Production Engineering Specialist

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to optimize the Production organization’s assembly methods, processes, and equipment to minimize labor hours in accordance with business strategies related to quality, efficiency, costs, and safety.

Each day, you will ensure appropriate production methods, cycle time, equipment performance, and materials/components in support of production targets. You will also showcase your expertise by defining the working phase sequence of a new production process to achieve the targeted product cost and equipment investment budget.

The work model for the role is: onsite

This role is contributing to the Electrification Smart Power division in North America.

You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Develop, configure and optimize both existing and new manufacturing processes from inception through start up and certification.
  • Perform process assessments, collecting and interpreting an array of measurements and data to determine the best solution.
  • Ensures appropriate production methods, cycle-time, equipment performance, and materials/components in support of production targets.
  • Provide documentation of process, visual and quality standards, including fabrication of operating instructions where required.
Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related field required.
  • 0-5 years relevant experience required.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, six sigma principles and other process related standards is desired.
  • Working knowledge of process engineering software packages.
  • CAD or AutoCAD skills.
  • Experience in process simulations preferred.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
