Description:

CTG is seeking to fill a Mechanical Assembly Build and Test Floor opening for our client in Poughkeepsie, NY.

Location: Poughkeepsie, NY

Duration: Ongoing contract

Duties:

  • Work in a manufacturing environment on the mechanical assembly build and test floor.
  • Perform critical inspections and ensure compliance of mechanical parts and machine assembly using a tablet and software.
  • Identify parts and address any issues promptly, communicating findings to the greater team.
  • Visually inspect machines from top to bottom, ensuring that machines are assembled to specification.
  • Manipulate hand tools as needed to make necessary adjustments.
  • Interact with engineering and quality teams to address and resolve issues, ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Follow technical procedures to perform tasks and recommend improvements based on new technologies or insights gained.

Skills:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to visually inspect mechanical assemblies.
  • Proficiency in using tablets and software for inspections and reporting.
  • Ability to manipulate hand tools and adjust mechanical parts when necessary.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively exchange information and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to apply technical knowledge to problem-solve and suggest process improvements.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or mechanical assembly environment is preferred.
  • Experience with mechanical inspections and assembly.
  • Knowledge of using software for compliance checks and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical certifications or additional mechanical training is a plus.

Physical Demands:

  • Will require periods of standing and physical dexterity to inspect and adjust machines.
  • Ability to manipulate hand tools and perform manual tasks for machine assembly.

Communication:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of individuals and teams.
  • Clear communication with engineering and quality teams to address and resolve technical issues.

Problem Solving:

  • Apply advanced technical knowledge to address and resolve mechanical issues on the assembly floor.
  • Recommend improvements to existing procedures based on new technologies or observations.

Impact on Business/Scope:

  • Accountable for individual performance and the impact of the results on the team and overall project.
