Customer Experience Specialist

We are seeking a Customer Experience Specialist to join our team in the transport industry, based in Lansing, Michigan. As a Customer Experience Specialist, you will be tasked with providing accurate information to the public, assisting customers, processing lost and found items, maintaining service and quality standards, managing currency, and performing administrative duties.
This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity. 100% onsite, M-F, 7am-4pm or 8am-5pm. Requires detail oriented communication skills and proper grammar usage at all times.
Responsibilities:- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all routes and schedules to provide accurate fare and route information to the public.
- Assist customers in utilizing our services effectively.
- Foster a friendly, courteous, and detail-oriented communication with customers, vendors, and team members.
- Handle lost and found items in accordance with company policy.
- Uphold high standards by applying the concepts learned in customer service training modules.
- Manage selling fare media to customers and process daily cash, check, and credit/debit receipts accurately.
- Reconcile transactions and balance the cash drawer.
- Open and close the Information Booth & Multimodal Gateway following established procedures.
- Provide backup and relief for the Front Desk Representative and other Customer Experience Representatives.
- Contribute to team initiatives and meetings, and assist the Customer Experience Manager with various department projects as needed.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a customer service role- within the Transport industry is a plus
- Proficiency in ADP
- Financial Services software
- Familiarity with Avaya CMS
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in commonly used computer programs
- Experience with CRM systems
- Knowledge of Epic Software
- Familiarity with About Time software
- Experience in answering inbound calls and providing customer support
- Ability to assist customers with queries, complaints, and requests
- Understanding of benefit functions within the Transport industry
- Experience with billing functions and procedures
