Job Title: Senior Accountant
Key Responsibilities:
-Oversee the daily activities of the accounting department and ensure that all major projects, month-end, and year-end reports are completed accurately and on time.-Ensure that all accounting processes align with GAAP and current financial legislation.-Analyze the company's financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs, and compliance with budgets.
Issue regular status and ad hoc reports to senior management.-Provide strategic analyses and recommendations to improve financial operations and performance.-Lead, direct, and manage the staff accountant team.-Coordinate and prepare internal and external financial statements.-Coordinate activities with external auditors and assist with the preparation of audits.-Develop and maintain internal control and effective accounting system and policies.-Recommend and implement improvements to accounting systems and management practices.-Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.-Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Master's degree preferred.-Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) license is required.-5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.-Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.-Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.-Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.-Excellent leadership abilities to oversee the accounting department.-Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
