Licensed Practical Nurse
HCA Solutions is currently seeking qualified Licensed Practical Nurses for the Federal Detention Center, Philadelphia, PA.
This is a full-time W-2 position offering long-term placement, health benefits, and paid time off
Shift: 8:00am - 4:30pm.
Description of Duties
The contractor shall be responsible for, but is not limited to:
Provide direct patient care services in accordance with legal, ethical, and institutional standards through the evaluation of patients and therapeutic treatment as ordered by Health Services clinical staffPerform nursing duties within the scope of the current licensure
Administer medications as prescribed i.e., by mouth, intradermally, subcutaneously, or intramuscularly
Assist with distribution of medications at pill line
Monitor and evaluate the response to therapy
Perform Tuberculosis skin testing
Perform medical intake screenings
Transcribe consultation reports and scan documents into the electronic medical record
Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services for the inmate
Take medical histories, examine patients, and order and interpret laboratory tests and xrays
Assist outside providers with examinations during telemedicine appointments
Perform venipuncture for the purpose of obtaining laboratory specimens
Maintain accurate logs of all reports in accordance with Bureau of Prisons and AAAHC policy
Screen laboratory tests/results for normal/abnormal lad values and notify the physician or physicians
Ensure all sharps are secured, accounted for, stored and disposed of according to institutional and national policy
Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality
Assist with daily equipment checks
Adhere to infection control policies and procedures
Ability and skill to operate EKG
Clinically manage injuries by splinting, and immobilizing
Attend to medical emergencies
Work collaboratively with the staff physician(s) and consulting physician(s) in planning, instituting, evaluating and revising program plans
Assists in determining conditions, resources and policies essential to delivery of the health care services
Discriminate between normal and abnormal findings to recognize early stages of serious physical, emotional, or mental problemsManage the daily operation of the clinic and conducts daily sick call; which may include securing health histories from the patient, recording findings and providing clinical evaluations
Communicate with outside medical facilities as needed
Provides a wide range of emergency services, in the absence of the physician
Assist with administrative duties including but not limited to medical trip packets, Utilization Review Committee meeting minutes, and patient scheduling
Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality
Perform duties as required, but accept only those nursing assignments that are commensurate with his/her educational preparation, training, experience, and licensure laws
Required credentials for LPN positions: Current BLS/CPR certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
Current, unencumbered applicable professional LPN licenseProof of professional training completion
Current TB Test
Current proof of Covid Vaccination, if available
Must be willing to complete all background and badging paperwork
