Responsibilities:
The Occupational Therapy Assistant student implements Occupational therapy programs and provides Occupational therapy treatments to patients to facilitate increased independence and functioning, under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist and/or Occupational Therapy Assistant.
- The Occupational Therapy Assistant Student will follow all Powerback Rehabilitation policy and
- The Occupational Therapy Assistant Student attends and contributes to patient care, staffing
the direction of the Occupational Therapist and/or Occupational Therapy Assistant.
- The Occupational Therapy Assistant Student is responsible for the effective and efficient delivery
- The Occupational Therapy Assistant Student works with other members of the
capabilities of each patient with the supervision of the Clinical Instructor.
- The Occupational Therapy Assistant Student instructs patients, families and other caregivers in
of the Occupational Therapist and/or Occupational Therapy Assistant.
- The Occupational Therapy Assistant Student maintains appropriate and timely documentation for all patients treated with the supervision of the Clinical Instructor.
- The Occupational Therapy Assistant Student cleans, maintains, identifies, and reports the need for repair of equipment, as necessary with the supervision of the Clinical Instructor.
- The Occupational Therapy Assistant Student puts patient service first: ensures that patients and
recognizes the individuals' needs and rights with the supervision of the Clinical Instructor.
- The Occupational Therapy Assistant Student implements patient's individualized treatment plan as established by the primary Occupational Therapist with the supervision of the Clinical Instructor.
- Under the supervision of the Clinical Instructor, the Occupational Therapy Assistant Student
provides individualized Occupational therapy interventions including application of therapeutic
techniques in such areas as, but not limited to:
- cognitive skills
- muscle strength
- coordination
- endurance
- mobility
- perceptual abilities
- sensory awareness
- siting and standing tolerance
- balance
- activities of daily living
- joint protection
- work simplification
- orientation
- physical agent modalities
- The Occupational Therapy Assistant Student organizes and facilitates treatment groups in
- The Occupational Therapy Assistant Student performs other related dues as required with the
supervision of the Clinical Instructor.
Qualifications:
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
