Night Shift Operations Manager

To get there, we need an experienced and talented Night Shift Operations Manager to join the team in our Baldwinsville, NY folding carton plant. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient management of team member activities and accountable for achieving manufacturing targets and financial objectives to meet organizational goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and guidance on the coordination of plant activities to ensure manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner for the Printing, Die-Cutting and Finishing departments.
  • Provide support to LEAN manufacturing culture operations to ensure products are manufactured to meet quality, reliability, and cost requirements.
  • Maintain and promote high standards of safety, customer service, quality parameters, on time production goals, and customer on time delivery.
  • Nightly Responsibility for Safety, production coordination, and evaluation of the Finishing, Die Cutting, Litho Printing, Flexo Print, Flexo Die Cutting, Warehouse Departments.
  • Pre-plans and coordinates production based on the nightly scheduling and production requirements.
  • Reviews nightly production metrics and product quality and modifies production and inventory control based on available materials.
  • Continuously investigates opportunities to improve Team performance targeting our monthly / annual budgetary requirements.
  • Professional customer engagement during site visits, meetings and onsite customer approvals
  • Train, develop and oversee all night shift supervisor and leads across all departments.
  • Must teach general plant technique’s, GMP’s and required procedures to Department Managers/Supervisors and evaluate their progress.
  • Develops plans for Safe, efficient use of materials, machines, and Team members.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Ability to act professionally to establish and maintain good customer relations, team member relations.
  • Ability to make decisions which the result could be costly to the company.
  • Ability to understand and operate a computer and current software applications relevant to this position.
  • Must follow all applicable PacSecure procedures / policies and make recommendations for system improvements as identified, if applicable.
  • Must be capable of keeping accurate records, including the completion of all required forms, and the accurate use of different measuring devices including tape measures, and all other applicable gauges for you and your teams’ responsibilities.
  • Assist in establishing and continually improving the PacSecure system and ensuring enforcement of following the established procedures.
  • Performs as a capable trainer, instructs supervisors in all phases of work with a minimum of personal friction or conflict.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field of study from an accredited institution; or 7-10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Folding carton experience is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability in taking ownership and initiative of responsibilities and executing them to meet business needs and deliverables.
  • Ability to build key relationships with team members across the organization and develop an informal network of internal consultants.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills to build relationships and effectively communicate with team members company wide.
  • The ability to multi-task and appropriately prioritize work, while maintaining attention to detail is critical.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables and implement solutions to correct.
  • Relentless determination and courage to achieve operational excellence with a positive attitude!
  • Support, train and oversee all Safety, HCCP, OPEX Pillar, and any policy revision training requirements.
