About the Role:

We are in search of a committed and enthusiastic Weekend Part-time Tonic Bar Cafe Team Leader who is passionate about delivering exceptional guest services and can effectively execute in a busy environment. The ideal candidate possesses natural leadership skills and is a proactive individual who collaborates effectively with all team members.

You will often be the most senior visible staff member on site at the weekend. As such, you are self-motivated, comfortable with responsibility, you work well independently and without close supervision.

As a valued member of the Food and Beverage team, you will lead by example, actively engaging with guests, fostering positive and lasting relationships within our community.

The successful candidate will be available to work both Saturday and Sunday each week.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Food & Beverage Manager in overseeing all daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, scheduling and task delegation.
  • Consistently model exceptional leadership, creating a positive work environment, coaching team members, and demonstrating a dedicated and professional approach to team management.
  • Foster a positive workplace, encouraging dialogue and communication among team members.
  • Ensure all cafe activities adhere to company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
  • Ensure all cocktail bar activities adhere to company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
  • Prepare and serve espresso-based beverages, tea, and smoothies, following established recipes and quality standards - ensuring the team is set up for success every day.
  • Prepare and serve food items, including toasts, baked goods, and snacks.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with equipment and basic recipes, covering espresso machines, POS systems, fridges, and food prep equipment.
  • Ensure impeccable organization and cleanliness throughout the front of house, dining, and kitchen areas.
  • Manage inventory, including procurement and tracking of all food, beverage, and other goods for use or sale.
  • Process payments efficiently and accurately using our POS system.
  • Keep the cafe impeccably clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
  • Stock and replenish supplies, including coffee beans, tea bags, packaging, and other consumables.
  • Ensure daily communication, and shift brief between the AM & PM teams.

About You:

  • Demonstrated 1-2 years of experience in customer service, retail, and/or hospitality, preferably with a premium brand
  • Decisive personality, comfortable qualifying decisions which balance brand standards and logic
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, exhibiting excellence in effectively conveying information
  • You enjoy working longer hours in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, showcasing a commitment to delivering outstanding service experiences
  • Self-motivated and possess a collaborative, team-oriented approach to work.
  • Interest in health and fitness is a valuable asset
  • You hold a valid food handlers certificate
  • Smart Serve certification is an asset, but not required.
