job summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to oversee key expansion projects and facility enhancements within our chemical storage terminal. This role is responsible for the planning, engineering, and construction management of new and existing facilities.

The Project Manager will ensure that all projects meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness while aligning with business objectives. This role manages capital budgets ranging from $50,000 to $50 million.

responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of project scopes, cost estimates, schematics, drawings, and specifications for new construction, expansion, and major improvements.
  • Evaluate risks and guide project teams on detailed engineering efforts.
  • Develop bid documentation and oversee contractor and supplier evaluations.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards through testing, inspection procedures, and guidance to construction teams.
  • Ensure safe design and construction practices, including Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and safety audits.
  • Manage federal, state, and local project permitting processes.
  • Provide detailed progress reports, including budget vs. actual status, resource allocation, and safety records.
  • Oversee project documentation and facilitate handover to Operations and Maintenance teams.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams, including engineering, procurement, and construction partners, to ensure timely, budget-conscious project delivery.
  • Collaborate with Procurement to develop effective contracting strategies.

Additional Duties:

  • Support compliance with company policies and safety standards.
  • Cooperate with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve project and business goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
  • At least 15 years of professional engineering experience within chemical storage terminals, chemical plants, refineries, or large engineering organizations.
  • Proven experience managing projects with budgets ranging from $500,000 to $50 million, specifically within the chemical storage, petrochemical, or refinery sectors.
  • Project Management Certification (preferred).
  • Experience with EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local permitting processes.
