Financial Systems Analyst II
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Financial Systems Analyst II with a strong background in law firm financial systems to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience working within an Aderant-based AM Law 100 firm and possess advanced technical skills in ASP.NET, C#, SQL, JavaScript, and SSRS. This role will involve supporting, optimizing, and enhancing financial systems, ensuring seamless integration and high performance to meet the firm’s financial and operational needs.

Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
- Web Application Development & Maintenance: Write, test, and maintain in-house built Web Applications in C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript
- Financial Reporting: Develop and maintain complex SQL-based reports using SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) to support financial analysis and decision-making processes.
- SQL Stored Procedures: Utilize advanced SQL skills to design and optimize stored procedures, scripts, and queries for data retrieval, transformation, and reporting.
- System Integration: Manage integration efforts between Aderant and other internal or external systems, ensuring seamless data flow and accurate reporting.
- Data Integrity & Validation: Ensure data accuracy and consistency across systems, implementing validation routines, data cleansing processes, and periodic audits as necessary.
- Source Control Management: Use Subversion for version control, ensuring code integrity and efficient collaboration across development teams.
- Process Improvement: Work closely with finance and accounting teams to identify process inefficiencies and implement technological solutions to improve operations and reporting.
Required Qualifications:
- Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required.
- Experience:
- 5-10 years of experience in a law firm environment, specifically with financial systems and software.
- Proven experience with Aderant or similar legal financial software.
- Strong proficiency in SQL (especially stored procedures) and extensive experience in database management, data warehousing and optimization.
- Experience with ChromeRiver , BillBlast, and other legal industry applications.
- Proficient in ASP.NET, C#, JavaScript, Powershell and related development technologies.
- Strong experience with Power BI, SSRS and Report Builder for financial reporting.
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in SQL, with the ability to write complex queries, stored procedures, and views for large datasets.
- Expertise in web-based technologies with the ability to develop, deploy, and test applications.
- Experience using Subversion (SVN) or other source control software.
- Legal and Financial Systems Knowledge:
- In-depth understanding of financial processes in a law firm setting, including time and billing, invoicing, expense management, and financial reporting.
- Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills:
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
- Communication Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with other legal or financial software tools commonly used in law firms (e.g., Aderant, Chromeriver, etc.).
- Knowledge of financial systems integrations, data migrations, and system upgrades.
- Experience with cloud-based financial systems or SaaS applications is a plus.
