We are presently seeking to fill Machine Operator positions on the second shift. The hours for the role are Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Applicants must be flexible to work overtime and/or weekends as maybe needed.

Responsibilities:

KEY TASKS
  • Set-up MANUAL machines (calibration, cleaning, etc.) to start a production cycle.
  • Operate both manual and CNC machines.
  • Set up, operate, or tend multiple manual machines to cut, shear, punch, crimp, bend, or straighten material.
  • Operate or tend manual CNC machines to cut, shear, punch, crimp, bend, or straighten material.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering specifications, and shop orders to determine machine setup, production methods, and sequence of operation.
  • Position and clamp stop, guides, and turntables.
  • Adjust controls to set and regulate machining factors.
  • Work against stops and guides or align layout marks with dies or cutting blades manually.
  • Start and observe machine operation to reposition or adjust machine settings for multiple or successive passes.
  • Inspect or measures parts, using ruler, gauges, and templates.
  • Control and adjust machine settings.
  • Make off-sets on both manual and CNC machines.
  • Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines.
  • Test operation of machines periodically.
  • Resolve/fix issues that might occur during the shift.
  • Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws.
  • Change inserts on MANUAL machines and CNC machines.
  • Edit MANUAL machines only, not CNC machines.
  • Pull programs on MANUAL machines only, not CNC machines.
  • Manually assemble parts using various hand tools to complete the process.
  • Examine completed workpieces for defects, such as chipped edges or marred surfaces and sort defective pieces according to types of flaws.
  • Measure completed workpieces to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, or rulers.
  • Set stops on machine beds and change dies.
  • Start machines, monitor their operations, and record operational data.
  • Prepare completed parts for shipment by boxing, labeling, weighting, and crating.
  • Document and complete departmental paperwork.
  • Meet required productivity levels.
  • Suppor and adhere to all safety requirements. Wear the proper personal protective equipment distributed and approved by the company.
  • Ensure that housekeeing is maintained.
  • Material handling as maybe required.
  • Perform other duties as maybe required.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma, G.E.D. and one to three years’ manufacturing experience.
  • Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (i.e., calipers, micrometers, etc.)
  • Understanding of production procedures.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to apply basic mathematical skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide, and decimals.
  • Perform work from drawings, specifications, and formulas involving limited detail.
  • Good communication skills including excellent English language in writing, reading, and speaking.
  • The ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Must be aware of and adhere to all company and departmental safety procedures and policies.
  • Must be able to stand for a long period of time and be agile to operate more than one machine within a work cell.
