Overview:
Are you up for challenges? CAES Woburn MA is looking for a Production Test Technician to operate as a team player, in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Working closely with multi-disciplinary teams, and being able to adapt to a rapidly changing production environment brings with it an exciting opportunity to influence the successful execution of production goals and achieving operational excellence.
In this position, you play a pivotal role in transitioning test and troubleshooting capability and core knowledge from operations and engineering leads to manufacturing as new programs and products are introduced.
Responsibilities:
- Understand RF/microwave test and tune concepts while working directly with engineering as required.
- Coordinate and support test activities on current engineering and production programs.
- Perform test and troubleshooting of Microwave assemblies in accordance with established procedures and rework faults to implement fixes and resolve problems as needed.
- Proactively influence plans to establish and maintain necessary test infrastructure to ensure testing is performed in a sustainable and reliable manner.
- Support overall manufacturing execution to meet cost, quality and delivery targets.
- Support Engineering in developing test procedures and strategies to carry out component testing.
- Analyze, troubleshoot and calibrate various test equipment including Power Meters, Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, PNA/PNA-X and related equipment as required .
- Ability to train and provide support to manufacturing team,
- Assist in the NPI (New Product Introduction) process
- Knowledge and understanding of AS9100 quality procedures.
- Utilize manufacturing applications to create and document non-conforming products.
- Organize data to identify cause/effect relationships and recommend resolution/process improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1+ years of experience in this area of responsibility
- This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a “US Person” under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Preferred:
- 2 year technical degree, or military training as a Technician is preferred
- 2+ years’ directly relevant experience as an electronics technician is strongly preferred
- Formal training relative to RF testing and theory
- Defense industry experience and familiar with mil-spec requirements
- Experience tuning complex RF assemblies
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Ability to perform SMT repairs to IPC standars.
- Ability to troubleshoot RF circuits to the component level and read assembly prints and schematics
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good hand-eye coordination for work under a microscope.
- Ability to work independently and be effective in a fast paced environment. Strong team player and willing to work collaboratively across the organization.
Physical Requirements:
- Willing to perform repetitive motion (rotating wrists, keyboarding, using small/large tools)
- Able to lift 25 pounds
- While performing duties of this job, employee is regularly required to stand or sit for long periods of time
Hourly Range: $20.85 - $32.59 hourly (Woburn, MA)
Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
