The Role:

As a State and Local Tax Unclaimed Property Manager, you will be responsible for conducting and assisting in the oversight of services such as state unclaimed property research, annual compliance reporting, audit defense, voluntary disclosures, risk assessments, and policy improvements.

This is a highly consultative role, where ensuring client satisfaction is key. As a subject matter expert, you will work directly with clients and lead unclaimed property engagement teams. This position offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute to a growing team and embrace new challenges.

Compensation and Benefits

Our firm offers competitive base compensation, benefits package, and a discretionary employee bonus program for eligible employees based on individual and firm performance metrics per the defined program guidelines. For individuals hired to work in New York, the expected salary range for this role is $115,000 to $197,100; the actual salary offer can vary based upon employee qualifications.

Benefits: Employees (and their families) are covered by medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our firm’s 401(k) plan upon hire. We offer paid time off, beginning at 160 hours annually and provides twelve paid holidays throughout the calendar year.

Compensation: In addition to competitive base compensation, our firm offers annual discretionary bonuses based on firm and individual performance, a discretionary long-term cash incentive program, and other forms of discretionary compensation that would be offered to the hired applicant in addition to their established salary range scale.

The Requirements:

  • BS/BA in Accounting, Finance or Economics, Masters in Taxation or LL.M. is a plus;
  • CPA, JD, or similar degree required;
  • Minimum of three years experience in public accounting or corporate/public blend;
  • Minimum of three years of unclaimed property consulting related experience;
  • History of successful project completion and ability to clearly communicate key issues and roles with team members;
  • MS Excel based computations and models including statistical sampling related to areas noted above;
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written documentation of unclaimed property issues and analysis (e.g., history of successful involvement with drafting of technical memoranda, Voluntary Disclosure Program Reports, etc.);
  • Leadership, organizational, and project management skills;
  • Communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Interpersonal skills and a natural facilitator;
  • Self-starter with the initiative to seek out opportunities and ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment; and
  • Problem solving and analytical skills.
