Responsibilities:

Responsible for greeting and assisting all patients and visitors and directing them to registrars with correct routing information. Answering all department incoming calls, copy breakdown and distribution of necessary documents. Perform any other duties as necessary for the efficiency of the department, and the concern for the patient.

  • Greets patients, families, guests, coworker quickly and professionally
  • Assists patients/families to their assigned patient care area
  • Maintains confidentiality of records and protects the privacy of the patient
  • Organizes patient care and scheduling to maximize efficiency and minimize waiting
  • Accurately gathers data necessary for patient registration/processing
  • Recognizes concerns of guests and attempts to solve or gets assistance
  • Transports patients to the designated areas as necessary in a timely manner ensuring patient’s safety
  • Answers telephone/intercom; taking and delivering accurate timely messages
  • Participates in all mandatory hospital and JACHO in-services
  • Answers all department incoming calls and assist caller if possible or take messages for return calls
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

Required Education:

  • High School graduate or equivalent

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Computer knowledge, fax, copier and communication equipment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Organizational and secretarial skills experience
