Position: CMM Operator

Location:San Jose, CA

Duration: 40 hours a week
Frequency: 3 Months

Pay Rate: $40.00 an hour

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure CMM’s integrity, calibration, qualification, etc.
  • Determines unstated or hidden dimensions from a blueprint, working with fractions, decimals, and trigonometry.
  • Inspect parts, assemblies and finished products in accordance with specifications and/or legal requirements.
  • Follows company’s inspection guidelines to conduct critical non-routine visual, dimensional, mechanical, electrical test and functional inspections on a wide variety of components, assemblies, equipment, systems, supplies and materials.
  • Ensure raw materials, in-process and finished products meet company standards and customer requirements.
  • Prioritize items to be inspected/task to be performed based on production and manufacturing schedules, maintaining a minimum turnaround time.
  • Produce inspection reports as appropriate / requested.
  • Provide work leadership to lower-level associates; acts as liaison between Quality Assurance department and all other departments.
  • Generate first article inspection (FAI) projects to be used during CMM inspection.
  • Perform FAI package reviews and/or audits to ensure compliance with FAI requirements.
  • Assist third party inspectors with part and/or FAI inspection.
  • Provide input in the development of product manufacturing processes and workmanship standards.
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Five-plus years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to program Inspection Projects using Discus, PC-DMIS, Calipso or Verisurf software.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, be detail orientated, self-motivated.
  • Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, dial indicators, oscilloscopes, component testers.
  • Ability to analyze data for accuracy and interpret results.
  • Must be proficient in use of computers and software programs.
  • Must be a team player and process driven.
  • The candidate needs to be able to access and use web-based tools and applications with little to no direction
