Carrier Sales Representative - Chicago

Batch Freight is seeking a proactive Carrier Sales Representative to enhance our relationships with transportation carriers. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing and maintaining relationships with carriers, negotiating rates, and ensuring the smooth operation of freight logistics.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a deep understanding of the transportation industry, helping us to optimize our carrier network and improve our service offerings.

Responsibilities
  • Identify, source, and onboard new carrier partners
  • Negotiate freight rates and contracts with carriers
  • Monitor carrier performance and maintain relationships
  • Resolve any issues related to carrier capacity or service levels
  • Work closely with the operations team to ensure seamless freight movement
  • Stay informed about market trends and shifts in carrier capacities
  • Provide outstanding customer service to carriers
Requirements
  • Proven experience in carrier sales, brokerage, or a similar role
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Understanding of the freight transportation market and logistics
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Proficient in logistics software and relevant tools
  • Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or a related field preferred
