Overview:

We are offering an opportunity for a Legal Secretary in the legal industry, based in San Francisco, California. This role involves providing litigation support in construction defect litigation and casualties, as well as managing communication with the calendaring clerk.

The job offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity and flexibility with a hybrid work schedule. However, there is an expectation to be fully onsite for the first few weeks of employment while you get up to speed.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support in the area of construction defect litigation and casualties
  • Communicate effectively with the calendaring clerk for efficient scheduling
  • Utilize Microsoft Suite and Excel for straight-forward correspondence and pleadings
  • Handle e-filing and manage electronic records accurately
  • Prepare and process subpoenas in line with civil litigation protocols
  • Ensure attention to detail in all tasks, maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Leverage skills in LexisNexis, Management System, Microsoft Office Suites, Microsoft Outlook, and Billing Functions for efficient job execution
  • Contribute to briefings and documentation processes as required • Utilize knowledge of Personal Injury Law, Personal Injury Litigation, and Construction Defect in day-to-day tasks
  • Manage e-Filing and e-File systems effectively.
  • Possess proficiency in using legal software such as LexisNexis
  • Familiarity with e-Filing and e-File systems
  • Experience in managing complex calendar schedules
  • Ability to perform tasks such as dictation and briefing
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Demonstrable knowledge in Civil Litigation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook
  • Experience in performing billing functions
  • Familiarity with management systems
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
