Overview:
Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties has a full-time opportunity for a Senior Network Engineer in Anaheim, CA.
This is an on-site position.
The Sr. Network Engineer’s role is to architect, monitor, troubleshoot, implement, and support network and VOIP infrastructure and operations. This individual is solely responsible for the network infrastructure of the organization, working closely with Systems and Infrastructure teams, participates in the design and implementation of core technical projects, and may lead the development and implementation of specific projects or platforms.

Qualifications:

Licensure and/or Certification Requirements:
- IT Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or other network certifications are required.
Minimum Education:
- BS in computer science or related field preferred or a proven combination of education and/or experience.
Minimum Work Experience:
- Minimum of 10+ years in network administration/security.
- Minimum of 5+ years in VOIP/ telecom.
- Strong grasp of current network hardware, protocols, and standards.
- Experience in system/network security.
- Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, implementation, and support of networks and hardware solutions, systems, or products.
Other Requirements:
- In-depth knowledge of network protocols, architecture, and services (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS).
- Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Strong understanding of firewall and security technologies.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation tools major plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to provide technical expertise to team members in order to meet organizational goals and target.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Ability to define and make recommendations to resolve problems within the scope of the job.
- Ability to handle varied tasks simultaneously and work well under pressure.

Responsibilities:
Essential Functions: Essential functions encompass the required tasks, duties and responsibilities performed as part of the job and the reason the job exists.
Technology Architecture and Service Delivery:
- Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure network solutions.
- Develop and maintain network architecture diagrams and documentation.
- Evaluate and integrate new networking technologies to improve performance and security.
- Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
- Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls).
- Perform regular network maintenance and system upgrades, including service packs, patches, hotfixes, and security configurations.
- Identify and resolve network issues in a timely manner.
- Provide 2nd Tier (1st tier as needed) support and troubleshooting to resolve complex network problems.
- Collaborate with IT staff and end-users to diagnose and solve connectivity issues.
- Implement and manage network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
- Conduct regular security audits and assessments.
- Respond to security breaches and threats and recommend corrective actions.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks. - Prepare detailed reports on network status, performance, and incident resolution.
- Lead network-related projects and ensure they are completed on time and within budget. - Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for the procurement and installation of network equipment.
- Provide 2nd Tier (1st tier as needed) support for desktop, server, and storage systems.
- Participate in the design, planning, and implementation of projects.
- Assisting with implementation of Cloud-based solutions such as Azure, Office 365, and Citrix Cloud.
- Actively monitor the health of networking equipment, firewalls, and core systems.
- Provide review and oversight of critical procedures such as upgrading firmware and patching, backup jobs to ensure requirements for effectiveness and security are being met.
- Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
- Prepare detailed documentation of networking equipment, services, applications, security, and controls.
- Assist in the planning, design, and development of new application and enhancements for better and more secure network traversal to existing applications.
- Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing network and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
- Assist in preparing detailed documentation of LAN and WAN design, systems, services, applications, security, and controls.
- Assist with maintenance and operations of disaster recovery, and appropriate networking design.
- Travel between Orange and San Bernardino Counties locations for support.
- Work with Systems Operation’s team members and assist them with troubleshooting or different technical tasks
Security:
- Assist with the implementation of cyber security measures protecting information and communication technologies.
- Administer appropriate system security, including appropriate user access controls.
- Participate in security audits and report findings to appropriate organizational entities.
