Responsibilities:
- RN to patient ratio of 1:4, covering a range from young adults to geriatrics
- Monitor patients using medical equipment such as catheters, feeding tubes, tracheostomies, ventilators, and cardiac monitors
- Provide care for patients transitioning from ICU requiring more attention than general medical-surgical unit patients
- Conduct frequent patient assessments and escalate any changes in medical condition
- Respond to cardiac arrest and rapid response codes
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited National League of Nursing School with a Baccalaureate degree or satisfactory equivalent combination of training, education, and experience
- Licensed to practice as a professional nurse in New York State
- Minimum of two years of Medical/Surgical Step Down or ICU experience, including IV insertion, phlebotomy, and conscious sedation
- BLS & ACLS certification
- Demonstrate satisfactory completion of age-specific competency
- Rotating weekends and holidays required
