Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Executive Chef to lead culinary operations for a new restaurant. This is an incredible opportunity to join the team at the ground level and develop an extraordinary F&B program and make an impact on the New Jersey culinary landscape.The Executive Chef will oversee menu development, kitchen operations, and the production of high-quality dishes, while managing a team of culinary professionals. We are looking for a visionary leader with a passion for hospitality and an eye for detail, backed by reputable fine dining experience.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and implement a culinary strategy that exceeds guest's expectations
- Oversee menu development and food service across multiple outlets.
- Lead the kitchen team in executing high-quality food production.
- Collaborate with clients for customized event menus.
- Hire, train, and manage the kitchen staff.
- Maintain high standards of food safety and compliance.
- Source and nurture supply chain in line with defined company standards.
- Develop, train and execute menus and recipes that align with culinary standards and guidelines.
- Develop and maintain clear systems and standards of operations to ensure all areas of BOH are set up for success.
- Help create and cultivate individual development plans to nurture a culture of growth and fulfillment.
Requirements
What we need from you:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef, preferably in a fine dining environment.
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification.
- Strong knowledge of culinary trends, techniques, seasonality, supply chain, and menu development.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong financial acumen, with experience in managing budgets, inventory, and food costs.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and standards.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required for events.
- English fluency and Spanish knowledge preferred.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
