Overview:

GitHub is looking for a Director of Lifecycle Marketing to build the strategy and lead this function at GitHub. This individual will design the strategy for post-purchase digital marketing to GitHub customers and ensure its execution with internal stakeholders and strategic partners.
Both of these segments are crucial to GitHub’s ongoing growth and scale as an organization. This individual will be focused on achieving marketing goals aligned to GitHub’s objectives to engage customers after sales engagements to grow GitHub engagement and customer opportunities with personalized communications to help customers meet their needs The role will focus across Github products, generating product affinity and revenue growth through digital scale.

The role will collaborate cross-functionally with many teams at GitHub including Revenue, Product, Engineering and other Marketing functions as well as with our peers at Microsoft to advance the lifecycle marketing discipline. The right candidate is a strategic thinker, strong collaborator, data-driven and can deal with ambiguity effectively.

The role is based in the United States.

Responsibilities:

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and execute on a comprehensive post-sales digital lifecycle marketing strategy for GitHub
  • Align closely with Marketing/Revenue/Microsoft leadership on a digital post-sales strategy that will scale and achieve marketing goals aligned to GitHub’s business objectives. Execute campaigns and maintain roadmap aligned to these objectives
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Revenue, Product, Engineering and other Marketing functions as well as with our peers at Microsoft to guide the strategy and execution of prioritized partner marketing programs
  • Be the primary point of contact within GitHub for all lifecycle marketing motions
  • Build relationships and align closely with product and revenue teams for GitHub, aligning on strategy and goals to coordinate communications across marketing surfaces
  • Set the lifecycle marketing targets, measurement and testing plans and overall performance goals in alignment with the overall goals/targets for GitHub.
  • Track and report progress on key metrics, including regular readouts on the performance of lifecycle marketing.
  • Manage a small team of lifecycle marketing professionals
  • Provide a deep sense of accountability and experience driving large projects from start to finish.
  • Be a natural leader with the ability to educate and influence with high levels of ambiguity and tight deadlines.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of marketing experience in business-to-business (B2B) integrated marketing (e.g., digital, relationship, social media, campaign, etc.), marketing strategy, business planning, or a related field
  • 3+ years people management experience
  • Experience working in post-sales lifecycle marketing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with consumption-based business models is preferred.
  • Experience within a high-growth SaaS technology company is preferred.
  • Experience developing an Organizational Strategy is preferred.
  • Experience working with Data & Measurement, Marketing Platforms is preferred.
  • Communication & collaboration skills with the ability to influence across multiple levels of the organization and diverse range of partners is preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field OR Master's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field is preferred.

Compensation Range: The base salary range for this job is USD $105,400.00 - USD $279,500.00 /Yr.

These pay ranges are intended to cover roles based across the United States. An individual's base pay depends on various factors including geographical location and review of experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant. At GitHub certain roles are eligible for benefits and additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock.

These rewards are allocated based on individual impact in role. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.
