Manager - Supplier Quality Engineering

Job Description: Ensure the adherence of suppliers to company specifications and standards. Be responsible for overseeing supplier compliance from inception of supply agreements to termination. Play a pivotal part in product quality assurance and cost management.
Collaborate closely with various departments, such as engineering, supply chain, and field functions. Support product development initiatives and strive to mitigate supplier-related quality costs across all procured and developed products. Maintain and enhance the quality standards of the companys supplied components.
Ensure supplied components meet company specifications, including any necessary modifications throughout the development cycle, while upholding a systematic and auditable process for communicating specifications. Collaborate with relevant departments to identify and address reported concerns regarding supplied products, including the identification of high-risk suppliers, and taking sustainable actions to promptly rectify poor supplier performance.
Conduct supplier audits based on risk, performance, and stability criteria to uphold stringent quality standards. Drive year-over-year improvements in supplier performance to enhance overall product quality. Maintain transparent and rigorous communication with key stakeholders regarding escalated issues pertaining to the performance of supplied components.
Implement sustainable and systematic approaches to supplier recovery efforts to minimize disruptions and maintain quality standards. Collaborate with relevant departments to provide requested supplier-related data, including performance metrics and recovery efforts, and drive continuous quality improvement through corrective and preventative actions.
Lead the PPAP process and tracking key performance indicators to ensure supplier readiness and compliance. Enhance production throughput by ensuring the availability and quality of purchased components. Ensure the optimal selection of suppliers and continuously seek opportunities to engage with better-suited suppliers.
Effectively and systematically communicate specifications and requirements to suppliers to uphold quality standards. Utilize established processes to document and drive supplier improvement initiatives, particularly for addressing top-reported issues.
Oversee the end-to-end management of suppliers, from agreement initiation to termination, which includes conducting first article inspections, ensuring consistent delivery of specified parts, resolving defects promptly, and securing efficiency gains over time.
Must have a bachelors degree in Materials Engineering, Material Science and Engineering, Engineering or a related field. Five years of progressive management experience in a supply chain or manufacturing environment required. Five years of quality management experience leading an organization in a plant, CMO, or corporate setting required.
Five years of experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or fulfillment center environment required. Any experience required with: cross-functional leadership; data interpretation leading to tangible results; supplier development across quality, delivery, cost, and capacity management processes; and collaborating with sourcing functions to procure quality components from suppliers.

Participate in management reviews, senior management staff meetings, and monthly plant management meetings to address quality-related topics arising from the reviews. Lead efforts to document all supplier quality procedures and activities within the companys Quality Management System (QMS).
Minimum Requirements:Must have a bachelors degree in Materials Engineering, Material Science and Engineering, Engineering or a related field. Five years of progressive management experience in a supply chain or manufacturing environment required. Five years of quality management experience leading an organization in a plant, CMO, or corporate setting required.
Five years of experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or fulfillment center environment required. Any experience required with: cross-functional leadership; data interpretation leading to tangible results; supplier development across quality, delivery, cost, and capacity management processes; and collaborating with sourcing functions to procure quality components from suppliers.
