We are in search of a detail-oriented Controller to join our team in Granger, Iowa. The Controller will play a crucial role in our small, privately-owned manufacturing company's leadership team, overseeing financial operations, and ensuring the implementation of effective financial processes.

Responsibilities:

Oversee the preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Develop, implement, and maintain robust financial controls and reporting systems.
Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
Oversee the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
Manage all aspects of accounting operations, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and Inventory Accounting.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors.
Monitor and manage cost structures, ensuring efficient use of resources.
Develop and implement cost accounting systems and practices.
Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed.
Manage banking relationships and optimize the company’s financing arrangements.
Develop and maintain cash management policies and procedures.
Partner with the CFO and senior management team to develop long-term financial strategies.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decisions.
Participate in strategic planning initiatives, including expansions, acquisitions, and new product launches.
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Ensure the team is equipped with the necessary tools and knowledge to perform effectively. • Proficiency in handling Accounting Functions
Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
Familiarity with Budget Processes
Ability to manage Month End Close activities
Capability to Analyze Financial Statements
Knowledge of Financial Statement preparation and analysis
Strong communication and organizational skills
Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
Relevant certifications such as CPA or CMA would be advantageous
Prior experience in a similar role preferred
Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong leadership skills and ability to work in a team environment.
