We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounting Manager in the education sector. The position is located in Fort Myers, Florida. The Accounting Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing financial processes, ensuring the accuracy of records, and addressing customer inquiries in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the processing of customer credit applications to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Maintain an up-to-date record of all customer credit details
- Resolve customer inquiries promptly and professionally
- Monitor customer accounts regularly and take necessary actions when needed
- Utilize Workday Financial Management software to streamline financial processes
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards within the education industry
- Collaborate with other team members to improve financial processes and systems
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of financial reports
- Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information is provided
- Regularly review and update financial policies and procedures.
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification is preferred.
- Minimum of five years of experience in managerial accounting or financial management.
- Proven experience in supervising and managing professional staff.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and applications, including Workday Financial Management.
- In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Knowledge of taxation regulations and reporting.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
- Experience in a university setting is considered a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
