Job Description
ExoTerra is microsatellite company specializing in solar electric propulsion systems and space exploration satellites. The company develops Hall-Effect Thrusters, propulsion modules, and microsatellites. We have been awarded multiple propulsion module and satellite contracts and we are seeking an Aerospace Financial Analyst.
Job Summary
This role acts as the expert on materials costs within and across programs at ExoTerra. To be the expert, this role requires knowledge of aerospace materials and production processes, supply chain conceptual understanding and collaboration across Project Managers, Manufacturing, Production Supply Chain and Finance teams.This role will coordinate with Supply Chain on guiding close to 50% of company spending, maximize the value of vendor partnerships, and mitigate potential third-party risks.
Responsibilities and Duties- Loading Bills of Materials (BOMs) into Deltek CostPoint
- Ensuring accurate demand planning forecast
- Developing KPIs for effective purchasing and inventory management strategy
- Driving financial success through the project lifecycle
- Analyze financial data and find opportunities for improvement
- Variance analysis
- Working knowledge of Deltek CostPoint
- Understanding of inventory accounting concepts including WIP, FIFO, LIFO and average cost, and the ability to forecast not only quantity but also extended cost through the project life cycle on an ASC606 cost to cost basis (percent complete)
- Supplier relationship management & negotiation
- Executive-level communication and stakeholder management in a global company
- Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical, leadership, problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently work through multiple issues by capitalizing on available resources and prioritizing accordingly.
- Demonstrated use of comprehensive analytical skills to determine alternatives and present recommendations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and ability to thrive in a continuous improvement environment.
- Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively.
- Experience with aerospace parts, purchasing, and manufacturing
- Strong understanding of supply chain management, inventory concepts, and demand forecasting
- Exceptional diligence and attention to detail
- Proficiency in financial analysis tools such as excel, financial modeling software, and data visualization
- Curiosity and a willingness to be a part of a close-knit team of individuals, passionate about space systems, and who have the desire to continuously learn and improve
- 8 hour shift
