Overview:

The Pricing & Item Master Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining our company's pricing modules and item master database. This critical role ensures that accurate and up-to-date information about our products and services is available to support various business functions, including inventory management, procurement and sales.

The Specialist will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate pricing initiatives, including communication, updating pricing statements of understanding and other project documentation.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, (Product Management, Sales, etc.) to develop, establish and execute all pricing processes and strategies.
  • Create and manage on-line reporting tools to communicate the results of pricing analyses to all project stakeholders.
  • Coordinate annual price changes, validating all updates to ensure accuracy and integrity of the process and results.
  • Review financial reporting as necessary to ensure that price updates are implemented timely and effectively and that forcasted financial targets related to pricing are achieved.
  • Monitor compliance to established pricing strategies and guidelines in order to minimize financial risk to the business.
  • Own the accuracy and completeness of process documentation for assigned pricing processes.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to ensure accurate and consistent price reporting.
  • Develop demand estimation models and conduct price elasticity analyses for key items, product families and groups to determine price sensitivity and assist product managers in making appropriate pricing decisions.
  • Collect, analyze and interpret item data to provide actionable insights to various business functions.
  • Enter item data with accuracy and completeness of item data, including product descriptions, item attributes, planning parameters, government regulations, pricing, and supplier information.
  • Identify patterns, trends and anomalies while entering in item data to support further decision making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and provide data-driven solutions.
  • Review and validate data for consistency and compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
  • Identify and rectify data discrepancies/errors promptly using discretion and solid judgement on matters of significance.
  • Monitor changes in product specifications, pricing, or suppliers and update records accordingly.
  • Support new product introduction and promotions by entering relevant data and ensuring it aligns with company standards.
  • Assist in the implementation of data analytics tools and technologies to enhance data capabilities.
  • Coordinate annual price changes, validating all updates to ensure accuracy and integrity of the process and results.
  • Maintain a high level of data security and confidentiality.
  • Perform all other tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, business, supply chain management or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in business/pricing environment; knowledge of business principles and issues
  • Proven experience in data management, item master, pricing or related roles.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office with emphasis in Excel and Access.
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Proficiency in data entry and data analysis with a proactive approach to data quality.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and data management tools (e.g., Infor LN, SAP, Oracle).
  • Knowledge of SQL query desired.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Previous work with Harmonized Tariff Schedules preferred.

Pay Range: $65,000 - $70,000 depending on experience

This is an on-site position in Carol Stream, Illinois.
