Underground Utility Technician
Construction Trades Staffing is seeking a Underground Utility Technician for one of our premier civil, utility, infrastructure, and sitework contractor who builds prestigious developments primarily in the Western New York region. Our contractor is construction expertise who provides large earthwork, sanitary sewer and storm sewers, waterline, hardscape and landscape projects.

Primary Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate must be willing to learn and perform all aspects of site and utility work labor, including but not limited to:
Install utility pipes and structures including but not limited to water lines, sanitary sewer lines, drainage lines and structures (i.e. catch basins, manholes, septic tanks, etc.), and electrical line trenching.
Sitework labor including but not limited to grading, drilling, shoveling, sweeping, andmaintaining equipment and tools.
Rough grade and fine grade hardscapes and landscapes including but not limited to building slabs, concrete sidewalks, asphalt parking lots, pavers, pathways, and lawn areas.
Use of GPS surveying and layout equipmentSite demolition and preparation
Excavation, backfill, and grading for buildings/structures
Cut/fill/haul-off earthmoving and grading operations.
Equipment operation such as skid steers, rollers, loaders, and backhoes.
Property and building maintenance (interior and exterior)Landscaping
Mechanical and equipment repairs/maintenance
Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience in Civil / Sitework/Utilities preferred
- Must be able to take lead role
- Organizational and planning skills
- Knowledge of equipment/machinery/tools
- Knowledge of site and utility construction including but not limited to storm sewer, sanitary
- Sewer, waterline, grading, layout and more
- Knowledge and experience using GPS
- Ability to work as a team
- Experience reading civil blueprints is a plus
- Complete work to a quality level above industry standards
- Communicating with foremen, superintendents, project managers, and coworkers
- Follow directions
- Ability to problem solve
- Willingness to work overtime when necessary
- Capable of carrying at least 80 lbs.
- Desire for a long-term career
- Driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites
- Willingness to submit to a background check and drug test
- OSHA 10 preferred
- Class A or B driver's license a plus but not required
- Mechanic experience and ability a plus but not required
