A high-end commercial litigation firm in Century City is looking to hire a litigation attorney for their growing team!

The 30-person firm practices high-end commercial litigation, including business, real estate, IP, employment, professional liability, and appellate litigation. They also have a robust entertainment practice.

Responsibilities of Role:

• Will be responsible for:
• will help all 12 partners (there are also 4 other associates) - everyone pools together
• 4-5 years of experience, ideally in business / real estate litigation field, or employment or trademarks
• legal research
• document review
• drafting demand letters, complaints, motions, including MSJs or MSAs
• trial preparation, and ideally 2nd or 3rd chair experience
• mediation and arbitration preparation (for Bryan Freedman)
• billable requirement pending
• Software: Updating software! The firm is in the process of onboarding Relativity (currently use clients’ own database, such as EverLaw) and iManage (currently have E-Docs – an old system) and CompuLaw (docketing)

Keys/Must Haves:

1. Quality writing skills
2. Prior trial preparation experience (ideally, have gone to trial, too)
3. Strong with discovery
4. Higher end practice area experience (no PI, for example)

Details of Role:

• Hours: Regular business hours, except during trial when OT is expected
• Profile that would be a fit:
• Someone who has a relaxed personality but likes to stay busy
• Ideally, someone who has worked under partners before
• Someone who wants to move fast and can hit the ground running

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school (ideally top 50)
• A minimum of three years of experience in the any high-end field of litigation
• Strong understanding and experience with trial preparation (and ideally attendance, 2nd or 3rd chair)
• Proficiency in drafting, preparing and arguing legal pleadings and motions
• Proficiency in legal research and writing
• Demonstrated experience in discovery, including drafting requests and responses
• Must be licensed to practice law in the state of CA
