ATSS Engineering has a client in Birmingham, AL looking for an Advanced Applications Engineer.
Pay $75k to $110k based on experience.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Review plans and specifications to generate proposals.
- Read and understand wiring and P&I diagrams.
- Understand and apply knowledge of how instrumentation is used in a process.
- Understand how PLCs are used to control industrial equipment.
- Understand network communications and be able to troubleshoot issues that affect industrial PLCs.
- Prepare submittals per the customer/spec requirements.
- Perform design calculations and prepare equipment or parts selection.
- Analyze boiler system parameters to design for system optimization and/or requirements.
- Generate specifications for equipment selected.
- Generate proposals for outside sales review prior to going to the customer.
- Place orders with vendors on equipment sold with assistance from the Engineering group.
- Generate designs using CAD
- Assignments require the investigation of a number of variables and supervisory assistance is provided on unusual problems.
- Answer technical questions from either the salesmen or anyone else within the company or outside.
- Perform training presentations using PowerPoint on various topics related to products and systems.
- Assist in troubleshoot service issues in the field.
- Be able to communicate on any level the technical aspects of the equipment being sold or worked on.
- Works closely with Sales, Parts, Service and Billing in total project assistance from quoting to invoicing as required.
- Reasonable, reliable attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Electrical Wiring Diagram, Controls and Networking Experience
- Pumps and piping systems experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience.
- MicroStation/CAD experience.
- Technical knowledge of hydronic systems (design, engineering, etc.)
- Technical knowledge of boiler systems (design, engineering, etc.)
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to maneuver through different computer software programs
- Must possess a strong desire to learn
- Ability to travel as required (7. Knowledge of CRM software
- Occasionally required to stand or walk; sit at a desk up to 8 hours a day.
- Ability to work in a controlled climate (68-72 degrees).
- Occasionally required to lift or move up to 25 pounds.
- Use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Reach with hands and arms; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision,
peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
ADDITIONAL NOTES- Travel for training may be required.
- This job operates in a professional office environment.
- The job schedule is Monday thru Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
- Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
