Database Developer

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Database Developer. You will be responsible for designing, testing, planning, implementing, protecting, operating, managing and maintaining databases.

Responsibilities:

1. Must be based in the Chicagoland area.
2. Design, develop, and maintain databases in a client/server environment.
3. Analyze and determine informational needs and elements, data relationships and attributes, proposed manipulation, data flow and storage requirements, and data output and reporting capabilities.
4. Design and manipulate database structures to accommodate evolving business needs.
5. Ensure optimal performance of databases through fine-tuning, maintenance, and performance testing.
6. Assist with troubleshooting and resolving database connectivity issues, and ensure security and integrity at all times.
7. Prepare detailed reports and design specifications, providing recommendations for improvements and system performance refinements.
8. Collaborate with developers regarding the use of data and applications related to databases.
9. Must be based in the Chicagoland area.
10. A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT or a related technical field.
11. Proven work experience as a Database Developer or similar role.
12. In-depth understanding of data management (e.g. permissions, recovery, security and monitoring).
13. Proficiency in SQL, Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB, and other relational database solutions.
14. Knowledge of software development and user interface web applications.
15. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, and strong attention to detail.
16. Good time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
