Oncology Speech-Language Pathologist

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology.
  • NYS licensure and clinical certification in Speech Pathology (or equivalent).
  • Completion of clinical fellowship year required.
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance.

Duties:

  • Provides speech and swallowing therapy for cancer patients undergoing treatments such as chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery.
  • Works with head and neck cancer patients to restore speech and swallowing function.
  • Implements compensatory strategies for patients with voice and communication challenges.
  • Coordinates with oncologists, dietitians, and rehabilitation teams.
  • Supports patients and caregivers in adapting to changes in speech and eating abilities.
