SUPERVISES: In charge of department when Manager is off duty.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience: Must possess, as a minimum, a 10^th^ grade education.One (1) year dietary experience in a hospital or health care facility preferred (but notnecessary).
Physical: Able to stand for long periods of time; able to lift in excess of 20 pounds. Professional appearance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Checks menu for the day, and plans work accordingly. Defrosts meats for future cooking.
- Prepares food to be served hot, as called for on the menu; prepares some dessert for dinner or supper. Spaces and times the cooking of vegetables to preserve their appearance, flavor, and nutritional value.
- Serves hot foods, plates individual meals for Residents, personnel, and guests.
- Cleans and washes small equipment used in cooking; keeps own work area clean.
- Checks refrigerators for leftovers daily; plans to freeze them, use them or dispose of them.
[Evening shift does have an additional shift pay of $1.25/hr.
