Purchasing Agent

We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Purchasing Agent in the construction industry, located in Charleston, South Carolina. The successful candidate will be tasked with managing inventory levels, developing inventory control procedures, and preparing and managing purchasing orders among other responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Regular monitoring of inventory levels and identification of any inconsistencies or discrepancies.
• Coordination and supervision of inventory receiving and storing processes.
• Execution of regular physical inventory audits and reconciliation with inventory management system records.
• Development and implementation of inventory control procedures and best practices.
• Maintenance of accurate and up-to-date inventory records and documentation.
• Assistance in the preparation and management of purchasing orders.
• Identification and addressing of potential inventory shortages or overstock situations.
• Working closely with sales and operations teams to manage inventory demand and forecast future needs.
• Ensuring compliance with safety and legal standards in the storage and handling of inventory.
• Coordination with logistics and delivery teams for timely and accurate shipping of products.
• Use of inventory management software or systems to track and analyze inventory.
• Assisting in the training of new staff on inventory control systems and procedures.
• Must have proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Familiarity with ERP
• Enterprise Resource Planning
• Knowledge of ERP Solutions is essential
• Proficiency in About Time software is desirable
• Must be able to perform Accounting Functions effectively
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) is required
• Familiarity with Budget Processes is essential
• Must understand and be able to execute Buying Processes effectively
