Lead Waste Water Operator
OVERVIEW ::
This position is responsible for ensuring that all water leaving the plant water treatment facility meets or exceeds required guidelines. In addition, the Waste water employee works with production departments to ensure discharge of effluents and waste products coming into the waste water and rendering facilities are handled according to required city, state and federal regulations and oversees the maintenance and cleanliness of all of the facilities grounds.Usually works five to six days a week; overtime may be required based on production needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS ::
- Performs operational maintenance on all water treatment systems.
- Pump blood from kill room.
- Monitors wastewater treatment plant and identifies needed changes and potential problems; makes necessary adjustments.
- Performs chemical analysis of water samples.
- Cleans drain pads.
- Operates a computer to monitor pump stations, plant operations, and alarms.
- Maintains daily records and shift logs of plant operations.
- Reviews readings from meters, computers, and instruments.
- Yard jockey - drives wastewater truck.
- Oversees the operation of per-treatment equipment.
- Ensure the Proper operation of rendering and Offal equipment.
- Be willing to cross train and learn all task in department.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS ::
- High School or equivalent not required but beneficial.
- Must pass waste water truck driving test.
- Must be willing to learn all jobs in assigned area.
- Good communication skills
- Good attendance (Less than 4 Points)
- Must have good basic math skills
- Able to work without or little supervision.
- NO disciplinary write-ups in last 6 months.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS ::

- Exposure to outside temperatures.
- May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db. to 110 db.
- Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
- Must handle the weight of 8 to 10 lbs. repetitively, occasionally lifting, pushing, or pulling 40 to 70 lbs.
- Exposure to chemicals used in the poultry processing facility.
- Exposure to dust, feathers and chemicals used in poultry processing facility.
- Ability to work in a stationary position, on feet for the entire shift.
- Ability to work with heavy machinery for the duration of the shift.
- Ability to climb steps and to access and egress through the production environment.
