Senior Software Engineer
Overview:
FedWriters is building a team to develop and maintain best-in-class websites and web infrastructure for the Department of Transportation. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design and develop web applications while providing technical leadership to support DOT's mission-critical external websites.

**This position is contingent upon contract award**
Work Schedule and Location:
On-Site: This full-time on-site position will work Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm in Washington, DC.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop web applications and digital experiences
- Lead technical implementation of web platform enhancements
- Provide technical oversight and mentorship to development teams
- Ensure code quality and development best practices
- Implement Section 508 and WCAG 2.0 AA compliance standards
- Develop and maintain technical documentation
- Conduct code reviews and quality assurance testing
- Support system integrations and API implementations
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues
- Contribute to architectural decisions and technical standards
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- Experience developing enterprise-level web applications
- Strong knowledge of web development technologies and frameworks
- Understanding of federal web standards and accessibility requirements
- Experience leading development teams and providing technical guidance
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle methodologies
- Experience with version control and deployment processes
- Strong technical documentation abilities
- Understanding of web security best practices
