Responsibilities:
- Utilize Accounting Theory knowledge to maintain and develop accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
- Oversee the preparation of financial reports, summaries, and forecasts for business needs.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements.
- As a member of the executive management team, assist with the implementation of financial strategies and participate in key financial decisions.
- Maintain a document system for financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting procedures.
- Monitor financial details to ensure legal compliance, promptly addressing and correcting discrepancies.
- Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
- Track the company's financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement.
- Provide insightful information and expectations to the company's leadership to aid in long-term and short-term decision-making.
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Proven experience in an Assistant Controller role or similar position.
- Comprehensive understanding and practical application of Accounting Theory.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and other financial management tools.
- Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong leadership abilities and experience in managing a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with different teams within the organization.
- High level of integrity and a strong understanding of ethical behavior and business practices.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and multitask effectively.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation would be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of relevant local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to accounting and taxation.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement financial strategies and controls.
