Miami - Utility Drone Inspector (Gatekeeper)

Position Overview:

Power your Future at Qualus as a Utility Drone Inspector. The "Gatekeeper" plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, maintenance, and compliance of power distribution infrastrcture. The specialist is responsible for meticulously examining and reviewing the findings and data from asset inspection activities to determine the alignment with established safety and compliance standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews completed inspection forms, attached pictures, maps and other information submitted from inspectors in company systems (such as SAP, Trifacta, Sherlock) to analyze and evaluate the inspector’s conclusions.
  • Returns incomplete records to the originator or Supervisor for correction and ensures all records and findings are maintained for potential future audits.
  • Participates in internal inspection quality audit efforts. Assists in the development of reports describing audit findings, observations and trends.
  • Presents findings and makes recommendations to management on assigned special projects.
  • Reviews, approves and releases staging notifications, corrective notifications and orders submitted by inspectors based on the priority of work tasks.
  • Provides training and/or feedback for Inspectors related to selecting the appropriate FDA (Facility/Damage/Action) for a maintenance issue identified, required information for Line Corrective (LC) or EC (Distribution) notifications, general feedback on quality of photos, etc.
  • Assists with the implementation of process improvement and efficiencies.
  • Performs quality assurance reviews, as applicable, based on the EC/LC field condition and/or any issues with the information provided from the originating inspector.
  • Assists others using established processes, practices and procedures, as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience (preferred).
  • 5+ years' experience in the Power Distribution Utility Industry (Field or Engineering).
  • Background in Power Distribution infrastructure inspections.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of working time.
