Intern -- Transmission Line Engineer

Description:

As an Associate Intern, you will be assigned to work on a project team and assist the Transmission Line Engineering team members in the execution of their project work. These projects may involve the design of new and/or modifications and upgrades to Transmission Line engineering projects.

  • Working under the direction of senior engineers, this position will offer you the opportunity to utilize and expand your academic background in engineering one or more of the following areas:
  • - Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications.
  • Design of Foundations, Development of Structural Loading, Analysis of Transmission Structures.
  • Work on a variety of tasks associated with project reporting, such as tracking and evaluating project activities, project progress, and associated data.

Please note that this internship position does not provide a subsidy for relocation expenses.

Qualifications:

We do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Must have an expected graduation date in Spring 2025, Fall 2025, Spring 2026, or Fall 2026 with a BS degree from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program
  • Solid understanding of basic statics and strength of materials.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Self-Starter, proactive, able to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions and meet deadlines.

Valued but not required skills and experience:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or the community
  • Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred
  • Prior, related internship or co-op experience
