POSITION SUMMARY

This position works collaboratively and proactively with Administrative and Operations staff to develop, implement, and monitor the agency’s annual budget along with developing periodic forecasts throughout the fiscal year. Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of the agency’s annual budget, which must be presented to executive management and the Board of Directors prior to the budget year commencing.

Responsibilities:

DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • A high level of computer knowledge is required in order to import/export, manipulate,

and distribute financial data in the form and substance needed by program management

and business office staff.
  • Assist with the budget preparation for various contracts, grants, and special projects.
  • Assist with the cost verification process for new development projects to ensure
appropriate state capital reimbursement to the agency.
  • Responsible for the preparation and timely submission of the annual Consolidated Fiscal

Report. This activity involves a significant investment of time and requires an in-depth

knowledge of our state-funded programs, internal accounting system, and New York’s

state fiscal reporting requirements. Work collaboratively with the accounting team and

other parties to ensure that all concerns are addressed and that the reporting is complete,
accurate, and timely.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, manage special projects, monitor project
status and deadlines, and interface with all levels of accounting and program personnel.
  • Help minimize the Agency’s risk by assisting with the establishment and maintenance of

a strong internal control environment and support our commitment to follow sound

business practices.

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration required. Associate's degree with substantial relevant experience will be considered.
  • Experience:
-Minimum 5 years financial and/or budget analysis experience is required, preferably in non-profit health care or human service environment.
  • Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities:
  • Experience preparing the New York State Consolidated Fiscal Report (CFR) is a
  • Strong organizational, technical accounting, and communication skills required, as well as solid information system and a high skill level of Microsoft Excel.
  • Must be able to handle multiple priorities effectively and meet deadlines.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role is performed in-person in a standard office setting.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Employee is required to sit, walk and stand for prolonged period of time (at least 8 hours).
  • Employee is required to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Employee is required to operate standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, fax and filing cabinets. Duties involved moving materials weighing up to 10 pounds of a regular basis and up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis.

The Pay Range for this job $65,000. This range is based on what FREE reasonably believes it will pay an employee as for said position at the time of the posting. Individual compensation will ultimately be determined based on a variety of relevant factors, including, but not limited to, an individual’s experience, qualifications, services provided, geographic location, relevant skills, and other factors permitted under federal, state, and local laws.
