Community Health Specialist

Join Our Team as a Community Health Specialist! Are you passionate about increasing community education? We're seeking a talented Community Health Specialist to facilitate community training and distribute naloxone throughout McLean County.

Responsibilities:
Facilitate overdose prevention trainings. Distribute naloxone to community members and organizations. Conduct outreach and engagement activities with community stakeholders. Travel throughout service area providing resources and education.
Qualifications:
- Position requires a Master’s degree in a behavioral health, public health, or education related field and a minimum of 2 years related experience; or a Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral health, public health, or education related field with a minimum of 5 years of related professional experience.
- Knowledge of prevention theory and research, program development, needs assessment and evaluation and community capacity building is required.
- Experience in grant writing and budgeting is preferred.
- Must have ability to provide leadership, handle large projects, and collaborate with others within the agency and community.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Zoom and online reporting systems is required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, private automobile insurance, be insurable, and have home internet connection.
- Position requires ability to travel to schools and other locations in the site plan area.
- Must be able to obtain DCFS CANTS Child Abuse Clearance.
