Senior Material Handler
Position Summary:
The Senior Material Handler is a functional role that includes distribution order picking, stocking, packaging, and other material handling and inventory control tasks to ensure timely and accurate shipments are made to our customers using various indicators or signals.To assure team continuity across all warehouse operations, this position may also be required to learn, perform, and or be certified to assist within other areas of Warehouse Operations including material & inventory, traffic, or others as assigned.
The role works collaboratively with key business partners to ensure timeliness of execution, appropriate safeguards to protect during transit, and or other. Interacting with Customer Service, Purchasing, Planning, Operations and Material Control to identify and meet business requirements.The role also works closely with these business partners to identify best practices and address challenges timely and appropriately.
What you'll do as a Sr. Material Handler:
Timely processing of physical and ERP goods receipts including documentation and physical condition verificationVerification of items picked for accuracy and condition
Timely returns processing
Load and unload trucks as required
Perform physical and ERP goods movements
Generate work orders from ERP if applicable
Complete confirmations, backflushing, and work order goods receipts as applicable
Process stock transfers and material requests
Stock warehouse with material once approved for use
Replenish production areas and other areas as assigned
The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed:
Minimum: HS Diploma or GED
3+ years related disciplines experience requiredPrevious forklift experience (counterbalance, stock picker, reach truck)
General proficiencies in Microsoft Office and ERP/WMS required
Preferred: Forklift certification
Experience in counterbalance, stock picker, reach truckPrevious training experience (formal/informal) is preferred
Experience acting as back up to Team Lead preferred
Other: Ability to work independently and as a team in a fast paced, changing environment
Maintain positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendorsAbility to maintain regular and predictable attendance for required shift: 7:00am - 3:30pm / 8:00am - 4:30pm
