Job Description

The Senior Controls Engineer will be responsible for:

• Develop and program PLCs, SCADA systems, and HMIs to optimize automation and control processes.
• Work with engineers to define system requirements, implement control strategies, and enhance manufacturing efficiency.
• Collaborate with vendors to ensure control system alignment and support commissioning of new projects.
• Perform testing, validation, and troubleshooting to maintain reliable system functionality.
• Document control system designs, manage SQL databases, and utilize Python for automation and data analysis.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Senior Controls Engineer will have MOST of what follows:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial controls and automation, including PLCs, HMIs, drives, and sensors.
• Strong understanding of industrial networks, communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP), and SCADA platforms (preferably Ignition).
• Experience with HMI development, SQL databases, Python scripting, and troubleshooting technical challenges.
• Ability to interpret and modify electrical schematics while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
