Shipping and Receiving Materials Handler
Are you ready to be an essential part of a dynamic team? We’re looking for a reliable and hardworking Shipping and Receiving Materials Handler to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for shipping, receiving, and delivering materials and supplies while maintaining accurate inventory records.If you’re detail-oriented, enjoy hands-on work, and have a passion for helping keep things running smoothly, this is the job for you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Shipping and Receiving:
- Unload and receive shipments, including large pipes (20 and 40 ft. lengths), manually or using forklifts.
- Ensure all goods are in great condition by checking for any damages.
- Verify quantities and quality of incoming orders to match purchase orders.
- Package, wrap, and ship supplies as needed.
- Deliver and retrieve supplies from various work or storage areas.
- Organize, stock shelves, and rotate inventory to keep everything in order.
- Inventory and Clerical Support:
- Participate in regular physical inventories to maintain accurate stock levels.
- Update inventory records and adjust as necessary when items are received or shipped.
- Answer phone calls and provide exceptional customer service.
- Assist in preparing damage claims for supervisor approval.
- Other Duties as Assigned:
- Be flexible and ready to take on additional tasks as needed to help the team succeed.
What We’re Looking For:
- Skills & Experience:
- Strong math skills (adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing).
- Experience in handling, storing, and shipping materials.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment (training provided).
- Comfortable with basic computer operations and reviewing documents for accuracy.
- A proactive attitude and great communication skills for answering phones and assisting team members.
- Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Willingness to be trained on power and hand tools.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 10 hours per shift).
- Ability to work in dusty or dirty conditions and handle hazardous materials safely.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Local pickup and delivery of supplies may be required.
- Valid driver’s license required.
Pay Details: $17.00 to $19.00 per hour
