What You'll Do:

We are currently seeking a Production Manager, who will lead the manufacturing efforts for apparel in Sparta, Tennessee, and liaise with the production manager at our partner facility in Central America. As the Production Manager, you are responsible for the development of vendors, manufacturing capacity, and the execution of all production.

You will also oversee the production schedule, quality, efficiency, and cost.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain manufacturing capacity for apparel products that are to be produced in Central America and Sparta, TN
  • Oversee the planning process to achieve on-time delivery goals
  • Work with Vendors and Purchasing Manager to ensure raw materials and supplies are available in a timely manner while maintaining acceptable inventory levels
  • Ensure tracking reports (Filemaker) are updated and maintained
  • Ensure all products meet the quality expectations established by the quality control department in the United States
  • Interface with the Apparel & Gear platform in Chicago, Graphics, Product Development, Consumer Experience, and Management Staff in Sparta, as well as vendors vendors
  • Drive a continuous improvement culture to reduce costs and shorten lead times
  • Ensure manufacturing locations comply Wilson standards
  • Direct management of 20-40 employees

What We're Looking For :

This role requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Textile Engineering, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or a related area. We are looking for a candidate with a minimum of 5 years of strong experience in apparel manufacturing.

Other qualifications include:

  • Expertise in managing people, processes, WIP, and inventory
  • Proven project leadership from inception to implementation
  • Experience in screen printing, heat transfers, and sublimation
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to express ideas, problems and solutions with clarity
  • Basic understanding of LEAN concepts
  • Ability to interface with all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, analytical ability and strategic planning
  • Strong computer proficiency required in Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Ability to be successful in a dynamic working environment and to work under deadline pressures
  • Awareness and sensitivity to cultural differences
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally

This role will directly manage a sublimation, cut and sew, and embroidery team in Sparta. As a manager, this role is expected to carry out managerial responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
