Land Survey Technician
Join AZAD as a Land Survey Technician and
provide support to the Supervisory Land Surveyor within the Geomatics organization. This is a senior technician position and requires the ability to function independently and at a high level with minimal guidance. The position will involve extended overnight travel, up to 75%, to field locations throughout the service areas of Oregon, Washington, Idaho, western Montana, northern Nevada, northern California and western Wyoming.
This is a 2 year plus consultant position with high probability of long term and ongoing continued employment. This position is hybrid in Vancouver, WA with minimum onsite of 1-2 days weekly.
The hourly pay rate range for this position (which includes a health and welfare fringe benefit of $4.57) is $42.42 depending on related qualifications and experience, as well as composition of selected compensation package.
The ideal candidate must possess the minimum qualifications: Associate's degree in Land Surveying or Civil Engineering or a directly related discipline is preferred.
4 years of Land Survey Technician experience is required.
ORLand Surveyor in Training (LSIT) certification is required.
Experience should include work in the land surveying technician or engineering technician fields.
Must have knowledge of professional surveying practices and procedures; state and federal laws affecting land surveying and boundaries.
Proficient in the operation and maintenance of Trimble total stations, Trimble GNSS equipment, and electronic levels and other various measuring instruments.
Possess a sound understanding of the fundamentals of Land Surveying.
Possess knowledge and experience with state plane coordinates, horizontal & vertical datums, network adjustments (least squares), and geodetic & GNSS surveying.
Proficient with the use and operation of Trimble electronic data collection systems and processes; must be able to download and process data files, perform intermediate survey computations using various software packages (i.e., Trimble Business Center, OPUS, StarNet, Bentley MicroStation & Inroads, NGS tools, ESRI ArcGIS, Microsoft Office).
Ability to manage complex and varied datasets.Ability to understand scopes of work, schedules, and technical specifications for complex surveying projects.
Demonstrated ability implementing standardized workflows.
Ability to read and interpret deeds and property descriptions.
Valid U.S. Driver's License is required.
First Aid/AED/CPR Certification required within 30 days of assignment start. Worker/Employer is responsible for maintaining current certification.
Energized Facility Permit is required within one year of assignment start. Type: Substation Entry Permit (SEP)
Must be able to pass a federal criminal background and drug screening.
