Job Title: Senior Manager of Networking Services
Location: Spartanburg, SC or Boise, ID

Reports To: Director of IT Infrastructure
Job Summary:
The Senior IT Infrastructure Manager will oversee IT infrastructure, including network services, cloud environments and data center facilities. This hands-on leadership role involves managing a diverse team of IT professionals, ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of the organization's IT infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of experience in IT management, with expertise in Cisco technologies, Forescout NAC, Big IP F5, Solarwinds, and Palo Alto Firewalls. The ideal candidate will be forward looking while maintaining the stability of the current technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Network Services Management:

oOversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.

oManage network security appliances and services, including Palo Alto Firewalls and F5 LTM load balancers.
oMonitor network performance and ensure high availability and reliability, implementing necessary improvements or upgrades.
oDevelop and enforce network policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Cloud Services Management:
oLead the strategy, deployment, and management of cloud services, AWS and Azure, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
oWork closely with internal teams to ensure secure and efficient cloud operations.
oImplement cloud security and compliance controls, with a focus on cost optimization and performance tuning.
  • Team Leadership and Development:

oProvide strategic direction, mentorship, and guidance to a team of network engineers, system administrators, and cloud specialists.

oBuild a high-performance culture by setting clear objectives, defining expectations, and holding team members accountable for results.
oIdentify and address team skill gaps, and proactively plan for succession and resource needs to meet evolving business demands.
oPromote a culture of transparency, open communication, and continuous improvement, motivating the team to achieve high levels of productivity and engagement.
oLead by example, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Project Management:
oPlan, manage, and execute infrastructure projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.
oCollaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new technologies and solutions.
oManage budgets, resources, and timelines for IT infrastructure initiatives.
  • Security and Compliance:

oEnsure all IT infrastructure components comply with security policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.

oCollaborate with the cybersecurity team to implement and maintain robust security controls.

oOversee the implementation of firewall policies and rules enterprise wide.

Required Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT infrastructure management, including at least 5 years in a hands-on leadership role managing technical teams.
  • Minimum of 3 years comprehensive knowledge & technical experience of cloud systems (preferably AWS), deployment business systems, server technology, storage systems, information security and/or related data center technologies
  • Proven hands-on experience with the following technologies and practices:

oCisco Technologies: Routers, switches, firewalls, and network security solutions.

oForescout: Network Access Control
oF5 LTM (Local Traffic Manager): Load balancing and traffic management.
oPalo Alto Firewalls: Next-generation firewall administration, including threat management and VPN configuration.
oPerformance Management: Enterprise performance monitoring and management tools such as Solarwinds, ThousandEyes, AppDynamics.
oData Center Facilities: Designing, implementing and operating.

oForward Looking: Looking for opportunities to innovate and automate.

  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and experience managing hybrid environments.
  • Previous experience with JIRA, Confluence, or similar ticket tracking and documentation system.
  • Excellent project management skills, with experience leading complex IT infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of data center management, including disaster recovery, backup solutions, and business continuity planning.
  • Demonstrated experience in ITIL practices, network and system security, and compliance standards.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high level of autonomy.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Relevant certifications preferred. CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, VMware VCP, Nutanix Certified Professional, F5 Certified, Palo Alto Networks PCNSE, AWS
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting languages such as Ansible, Python, PowerShell for infrastructure automation and management.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in IT infrastructure and cloud services.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has supervisory responsibility to manage a staff of Infrastructure Engineering (Server, Storage, Cloud and Network Infrastructure) personnel . The selected candidate is expected to oversee staff activities, administration and train, coach & mentor accordingly.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time in office position with a work schedule of typically Monday-Friday with some schedule variations as needed on nights and weekends.

Travel

This position may require up to 10% travel.
