Responsibilities

As a Fire Alarm Service Technician you will inspect, test, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems in compliance with industry standards. This role is vital for safeguarding lives and property, ensuring systems function correctly, and providing expert guidance to customers.

  • Inspect and test fire alarm components like control panels, detectors, and alarms.
  • Document inspection results, noting any deficiencies per NFPA codes.
  • Troubleshoot and repair issues with wiring, devices, and software.
  • Respond to service calls and emergencies to restore system functionality.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, including cleaning and battery replacement.
  • Accurately log service activities using the ServiceTrade platform.
  • Work with Deficiency Sellers to provide inspection details for repair estimates.
  • Interact with clients to schedule work, discuss findings, and suggest upgrades.
  • Collaborate with Service Coordinators to optimize scheduling and material needs.
  • Maintain a clean work environment, following all safety protocols.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; technical training required
  • NICET Certification and state licensing Level 2 required.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
  • Experience with fire alarm system installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 72 and relevant fire codes.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
