The AUKUS, Submarines, and Industrial Base Group (ASIG), within the Sea, Land, Air Division, provides timely, objective, analytic assessments that integrate technical, operational, programmatic, policy and business analysis to NAVSEA Team Submarine program offices and key stakeholders surrounding submarine platform construction.
Team Submarine unifies submarine platform procurement activities, which includes the Columbia-class SSBN program (a Major Defense Acquisition Program and the Navy’s top acquisition priority), the Virginia-class SSN program and the new SSN-X program (developing the next generation attack submarine), to bring improved capabilities to our undersea forces.
Analysts and Engineers supporting Team Submarine will continue SPA’s decades of support to the SSBN force, as well as supporting oversight of cutting-edge attack submarine construction, assisting in developing the design requirements for the SSN platform of the future, and helping plan and execute new and innovative strategies to strengthen the critical submarine shipbuilding industrial base.

These are high-profile, major acquisition and manufacturing programs of significant importance to the future capabilities of the US Navy in an era of renewed strategic competition.

ASIG has an immediate need for a Program Analyst for Configuration Management; this role is located in the Washington DC Navy Yard (potential for light telework). #MC

Responsibilities:

You will provide analytic and management analysis support to undersea platform acquisition activities, focusing on development and execution of configuration management plans for the Columbia class SSBN, the newest class of Navy Strategic Submarines.

This would include program planning, integrated life cycle sustainment planning, supporting logistics and sustainment efforts, and efforts to transform, track, and analyze configuration managment data. You will be part of the Columbia-Class Logistics and Sustainment team, which will be responsible for 1) Identifying and mitigating obsolete parts or systems prior to pull through to the Columbia-class to ensure accurate failure rates for the life of the ship, 2) Preparing accurate provisioning schedules to identify availability ahead of time and resource accordingly, 3) Collaborating with multiple teams across the DoD and TEAM SUBMARINE to prepare for integration of the Columbia-class hulls and crews into the fleet, 4) Executing multiple CONUS military construction (MILCON) efforts to ensure Columbia-class hulls and crews have readily available access to necessary shore power, facilities, housing, force protection, berths, moorings, and all appropriate resources while pier side, and 5) Exploring digital sustainment opportunities to implement predictive maintenance on the Columbia-class hulls to increase operational availability for the life of the ship.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are commensurate with experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Washington, D.C. Pay Transparency Range: $90-$110k.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or technical field
  • 3+ years in program analysis, preferably on DoD acquisition programs
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Excel to analyze and represent data for engineering or project management efforts, and also proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and PowerPoint, to communicate to decision makers
  • Current DoD security clearance - minimum Secret, with the ability to maintain it throughout employment
