Responsibilities:
Essential Generic Job Functions:- Observes patient telemetry monitoring system and reports any abnormal responses promptly.
- Admit and discharge patients from patient telemetry monitoring system.
- Runs rhythm strips from patient telemetry monitoring system as per protocol.
- Monitors accurate functioning of patient telemetry monitoring system (i.e., battery life, rhythm
- Lifts a minimum of 5 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 10 lbs. and stands a minimum of 6
- Identifies the needs of the patient population served and modifies and delivers care that is
specific to those needs (i.e., age, culture, language, hearing and/or visually impaired, etc.). This
process includes communicating with the patient, parent, and/or primary caregiver(s) at theirlevel (developmental/age, educational, literacy, etc.).
Qualifications:
Knowledge, Education and Skills Required:- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years experience in health related field.
- 1 year experience in field or associated field of cardiology.
- Successful completion of monitor technician course at any hospital facility.
- Successful passing score on HUMC monitor technician arrhythmia exam.
- Exposure and experience in computers.
