Responsibilities

Our client is seeking a skilled Security Specialist to support IT system security assessment and authorization, as well as Zero Trust initiatives. As a Security Analyst, you will engage with IT programs to prepare security documentation and enhance the Zero Trust maturity of mission-critical systems.

You will collaborate with key stakeholders and subject-matter experts to ensure that technical implementations meet mission expectations and comply with cybersecurity requirements.

  • Interpret business needs and project requirements related to IT system security
  • Prepare and maintain security body of evidence artifacts, including system Concept of Operations, System Security Plans, FIPS 199 Worksheets, and more
  • Work with the Cybersecurity and Policy & Governance teams to ensure compliance with oversight responsibilities
  • Collaborate with key business stakeholders, IT experts, and subject-matter experts to plan and deliver security solutions for specific use cases
  • Improve the Zero Trust maturity of IT systems by assessing and recommending security enhancements
  • Perform non-technical analyses on project issues to ensure technical implementations align with mission expectations
  • Partner with government product owners and development teams to support system development for the client
  • Develop and maintain security documentation and artifacts
Requirements
  • 2+ years of demonstrated cybersecurity experience
  • Solid understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements
  • Working knowledge of Body of Evidence artifacts, including system Concept of Operations, System Security Plans, FIPS 199 Worksheets, and more
  • Experience working on improving Zero Trust maturity of IT systems
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of management and team members
  • Proficient organizational skills and comfort with daily client engagement
Preferred Requirements
  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Familiarity with the Intelligence Community (IC) and the intelligence cycle
  • Familiarity with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)
  • Experience providing security support in an Agile environment
  • Experience with systems engineering functions, including operations concept development, system and product design, and technical risk management
  • Knowledge of requirements management tools such as Jira, Confluence, MS Teams, and Agile Manager
Education/Certification Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity, a technical field, or a related degree program from an accredited institution is required
  • Active Cybersecurity IAT Level 2 or IAM Level 3 certifications
Clearance Requirements
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; an active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a SCI is required. Please be aware that onboarding can take 4-6 weeks for this position.
